Hi all, am taking 25mg per week (injection) of mx and started taking leflunomide in October. It has made a big difference (within 2 weeks) however, over the last few weeks, after taking my injection (thursday night) Ive been suffering all weekend with the most horrendous headaches and nausea. Sunday pm through to thursday Im fine so am presuming its MX. Ive spoken to the rheummy nurse today who has said to lay off mx for 2 weeks and see if this makes things better, if not, go back on it and drop the leflunomide. Am so hoping that I can come off mx as it has always made me very nauseous. Has anyone else had anything like this at all?

I couldn't tolerate MXT at all. Only tried 15mg by tablet and injection and both made me feel very ill. I tried increasing folic acid too but nothing helped. I felt very sick for 5 days after taking it and also very dizzy and felt as if my head wasn't attached to my body. After discussing it with my rheumy team we decided I couldn't carry in like that so I switched.to leflunomide and have had no problems with it.

However we are all different and tolerate diffrent drugs. Hope you work out which one is causing problems for you
